Mbweni Ruins Hotel

West Coast, 6 km from Zanzibar Stone Town, 10 minutes drive to the Harbour and 4 km from the Airport.
This 3-star hotel is owned and operated by 3 partners of Danish, Italian and English decent the hotel was built in 1991 with the partners later acquiring the Mbweni ruins and recently the adventure camps. It boasts of beautiful botanical gardens with 650 species of plants including 120 species of palms imported from around the world. They extend from the ruins to the beach providing a haven to many species of butterflies and birds.
Accommodation/room facilities:
The hotel comprises of 13 air-conditioned suites, each uniquely furnished in Zanzibar style. Each suite has easy access to the swimming pool and secluded beach and all except Room 4 have a balcony overlooking the sea. New suites are under construction.
